I love teaching and learning.  I am in my 29th year of elementary education. I started as a 2nd-grade teacher. After two years,  I spent the next 13 years co-teaching a primary multiage classroom.  I enjoyed leading book studies with my colleagues during those years and became a National Board Certified Teacher.  Fourteen years ago, I made the move to administration where I worked as the assistant principal for 13 years. One year ago I became the principal of Minerva Elementary. While teaching is my first passion, being in administration has provided me with the opportunity to empower teachers to be the best they can be. It has also provided me the opportunity to work closely with Dianne Ferrell to develop our Minerva Elementary PBIS Framework. Together we have presented at the local and state levels. I absolutely love what I do!  You can reach me at pbisjourneytogenius@gmail.com

I have spent the last 35 years in the field of education.  I have had a  number of roles in my career, a teacher and then school counselor. One of  those roles for me was being the behavior coach for my building. During those years I have accumulated a huge amount of experiences. I believe I am a career educator with a passion for helping children succeed.  With my extensive background in education, I feel I have expertise in behavioral management through positive behavior techniques (PBIS). My partner in this journey, Diane Ruff and I have been asked to speak at the state and local levels and preform many local trainings on this topic. These experiences have led me to this current podcast project, PBIS Journey to Genius. Diane and I will share through weekly podcasts our successes and trials in the world of PBIS.

My name is Dianne Ferrell. You can find me at https://pbisjourneytogenius.buzzsprout.com.
